Valentine's Day Murder Mystery Party

A Valentine's murder mystery party is a dinner party with a plot. Couples arrive masked, everyone plays a suspect, and somebody's secret romance is exposed in every round.

Each guest has a private link on their phone with their character, their secret and what they need to find out. The clues show on your TV, the host plays too, and there is nothing to print.

Murder at the Masquerade

Venice, 1888 · 6–14 players · about 2 hours

Murder at the Masquerade is the most romantic story we have: a masked ball, an engagement to be announced at midnight, a wife and her doctor, a soprano eloping with a sea captain. It plays 6 to 14. If it is just the two of you, The Last Dance at the Hotel Mirabelle is a detective case for two.

What the night looks like

Venice, 1888, the last night of Carnival. Count Corvino is to announce his daughter's engagement at midnight, and is found dead in his study two minutes before. Every guest at his masked ball was hiding something, and most of it was love.

Three rounds of questions, accusations and clues, from the engagement to the affairs to the two masks that changed faces before midnight. Then everyone votes on their phone, unmasks, and the reveal plays on the screen.

About two hours. It suits a dinner: one round with each course, and dessert after the reveal.

Tips for a valentine's murder mystery

Seat couples apart

Assign partners characters who distrust each other. The best moments of the night are couples accusing each other.

Dress code: evening wear and a mask

It is easy, it looks good in photos, and nobody has to buy a costume.

Red and gold

Candles, red roses, a glass of prosecco. The Party Pack adds masquerade name tags and a playlist.

Just the two of you?

Choose the Hotel Mirabelle case instead: you are both detectives with different evidence, and you have to agree on who did it.
