Privacy Notice

This notice explains what personal data sleuthnight.com collects, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Hosts: your email address (to send sign-in links and receipts), the parties you create, and the guest names you type in.
• Guests: the first name or nickname the host entered for you, which character you were assigned, and your vote at the end of the game. Guests do not create accounts and we do not ask guests for an email address.
• Payments: handled entirely by Paddle, our merchant of record. We receive your email address and the details of what you bought. We never see your card number.
• Usage: server logs and basic analytics (pages viewed, checkout started, purchase completed) so we can see whether the Site works and which pages people find useful. If we run advertising, conversion tags from Google may set cookies on the checkout and thank-you pages.

Why we collect it

To deliver what you bought, to run the game on your guests' phones, to send you the emails the Service needs (sign-in links, order confirmation, a setup guide), to answer support requests, to detect fraud, and to improve the Site. We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.

Who we share it with

• Paddle.com Market Ltd — payment processing, tax and invoicing (Paddle privacy policy).
• Vercel Inc. — hosting the Site and its database.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• Google — analytics and, if enabled, advertising conversion measurement.

We share only what each provider needs to do its job. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

Cookies

The host dashboard uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. Analytics and advertising cookies, where used, are described above. You can block cookies in your browser; the dashboard sign-in will not work without the necessary one.

How long we keep it

Party and guest data stays in your dashboard so you can rerun a mystery. You can delete a party at any time, which deletes its guests and votes. If you ask us to delete your host account we remove it and everything under it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days.

Children

The Service is intended for adults. Hosts may enter first names of guests who are minors for family games; we collect nothing else about them.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters we will post the new version here with a new date. See also our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
